| More raves about Scripture Rock... (6 of 42 Testimonials available for this educational and fun music CD) Review: | Our congregation purchased 200 copies of Scripture Rock to give away to the kids... We told the kids that they would get their own CD if they came on Sunday. We doubled our average attendance! Half of them were unchurched! These kids are now Cranking Scripture in their homes and loving it. Thanks for making quality music that kids love! How you helped grow our children's ministry this summer! | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | Children's Ministry | Name: | Dave Elshaug | Date: | 9/23/1999 |
Review: | Incredible job; I listened to the demo - by the first two songs I knew that it was exactly what I wanted. Cheesy childrens stuff really annoys me- The market is dominated by it. I can honestly say that Scripture Rock was the first children's stuff that wowed me! It is so cool! It is what the kids of the 90's need. We play it all the time! | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | Children's Ministry | Name: | Kenny Conley | Date: | 12/12/1998 |
Review: | Rating on ChristianBooks.com Product Rating: 5 "out of 5 Comments: "Awesome!!! Well, I'm 21 years old so I guess I'm not technically a kid anymore, but I really love this Cd. This has been the greatest tool I have ever found in regards to memorizing scripture, it really works... you'll be amazed. Also the second half of the album is in split track format so you're able to crank up the music without the words so you can test yourself on each scripture verse, this is really fun while stuck in traffic or when you're rockin' out in the shower. I'd give it 6 stars if I could." | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | | Name: | Lee Truax | Date: | 1/8/2001 |
Review: | Troy&Genie’s music is AWESOME. It will fit right in with what I am doing in my Kid’s Church. I have thrown out all of our flannelgraph, overheads, and chalk boards. We are totally multimedia with data projection, dvd, computers, etc. - highly interactive and fast-paced. Troy&Genie’s music is the final piece to the puzzle to make it a high-energy experience for the kids! Thank you, Troy & Genie!!!!!! | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | Children's Ministry | Name: | Tim McGrath | Date: | 4/10/2002 |
Review: | During our VBS last year one of the children let me borrow a tape called "Scripture rock" - they’re songs that incorporate scripture. At first I thought that it would be too hard for them to learn, but you would be surprised at how fast these youngsters pick up. My choir ranges from 4 years to 11, and they go around singing these songs all the time! I think you would really enjoy this tape. One of the songs my choir likes is called "GO!" It teaches kids the verse Matthew 28:19and 20. What better way to equip these young saints than through music! Hope it helps. | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | | Name: | Kerrie | Date: | 4/22/2002 |
Review: | I am the children's music person at East Lake Community Church (a 400 person seeker non-denominational church in Carolina). Last summer someone brought me a copy of "Scripture Rock" to listen to, and I cannot tell you the impact that that one CD had on me. I had been listening to all the kids CDs that I could get my hands on, and each one would have one or two songs that I thought might go well in our Elementary grades, but our kids are used to their parents music and compained the kids CDs are "way too boring Ms. Caroline". I was getting very discouraged until I received Troy&Genie’s CD - my 5 year old and 2 year old had all the songs memorized in 4 days and I realized that in that short period of time they had learned numerous verses - and not just the verses, actually where they came from in the Bible. I started getting convinced that every family in our church needed this CD. Of course there's no kids music budget (we're still meeting in a school and are in the process of purchasing land for a building) so I started talking with my husband saying that I really wanted all our kids at church to have this CD. This was not the first time that I've come to him with my gift of giving and said, "I really think God wants us to..." He of course whined but then he couldn't get it out of his mind either, so we went through our local Christian Bookstore and bought 150 CDs at I think $8/CD. Every family of a preschooler through 5th grade in our church got the CD; then we told the elementary kids that if they brought a friend to church that the friend would get a free CD. We gave away the remaining 30 in 3 weeks with kids bringing their friends. We even had a couple of kids who said their friends' parents wouldn't let them come to church, so our kid had given their friend a CD so "could I please get another one for me?" I have never been so touched to see kids respond to outreach - they really wanted their friends to have this CD, too. (And to let you in on a really cool "God thing" two weeks after we'd paid the $1200 bill for the CDs my grandfather that I speak to about once a year sent me a check for no reason for $2000. God is continuously proving himself real to me through examples of money when I listen and obey, not knowing how it's going to turn out.) Well we have a festival in our town called the Okra Strut Festival (very bizarre name but fun event) and our church sponsors a music stage where our adult praise band performs along with other churches' bands and some secular bands that some of the church band members are in. There is also a parade which we've never participated in until last year. Our elementary Kids decorated a 30 foot flat bed trailer and had 30 kids singing and doing motions that we made up to Scripture Rock songs along with adults walking alongside the float handing out candy with a coupon attached for a free CD. My contact at the BookStore chipped in money for 25 CDs and we paid for another 25 so we gave out 50 CDs at the stage when people came and turned in their coupon. And we could've given out at least 500 more - all day people kept coming up asking us if we had any more CDs. I kept looking at their faces thinking, "You just want a free CD but that CD holds the truth of life" and I can't believe that money was keeping me from getting it to them. Which brings me to now. Recently, our children's minister got a bunch of Troy&Genie’s sampler Worship Rock CDs and when I read the insert I knew why I liked them "You can order an bulk copies for a price you can afford". Give them away to hundreds of needy people. That's the Media Mission we want to share." I showed my husband that statement and we both had one of those Shindler's list moments when we realized at bulk pricing how many more CDs we could have bought and given away at that festival. How many more people would have listened to that CD in their car - because it's great music (some of the single people ended up going and getting the CD once they heard it in Kids' Cove) and possibly God changed them or their kids forever because of the truth of His word brought to great music. We are once again doing the Okra Strut Float on September 28th and I’m going to get lots more. I don't have a budget, I just have a calling and somehow God makes that work. I want to make sure that I get the most CDs as possible. (And my husband is actually a much more willing participant this year because he has seen the impact of that Scripture Rock CD on the kids in our church and his own kids). I cannot tell you how glad I am to partner with Troy&Genie in ministry from afar. God's words through their music have changed the kids at this church (and according to our pastor, it's probably more verses memorized by the parents all year, too). Thank you for reading this really long note. | Product: | T&G KIDS MUSIC : Scripture Rock | Job: | Children's Ministry | Name: | Caroline Bucks | Date: | 8/19/2002 |
